INK.

Before digital ink and painting in pixels Inking was the do or die of a penciled piece of artwork. Three quarters inking an eleven by fourteen page of beautiful pencil art and a careless swipe across the drafting table knocks over the inkwell. Disaster. The entire page is covered in a ruinous splatter of black horror that will run down and echo in your minds eye for years after. Or discovery happens. There is something so genuine about the inked page. It’s what the artist accomplished with a pen, quill, brush, spill, sponge, cotton swab or whatever exploration it took to make this one unique, original and distinct piece of art. I love ink and its properties on paper. In this INK GALLERY there are the really old inks I have done before I discovered the forgiveness of photoshop.
